Trace Your Plate

We know that quality fish is about more than great taste. You also want to know where it’s been sourced from. That’s why some of our cans (and Fridge Pots) come with a code that you can enter into our tracking tool, letting you see where your fish came from. For the rest of our products, Thai Union’s (our parent company) European Sourcing Transparency report outlines all John West species and more information about where they come from. You can find it here.

We know where every one of our products comes from and we want to share this with you. We are working to add all our products to the can tracker, but currently you can trace the following tuna products from the Seychelles and Ghana; No Drain Tuna, Tuna Chunks, Tuna Steaks in Brine, Sunflower Oil, Olive Oil and Spring Water. You can also trace our Red and Pink Salmon from Alaska and Canada, as well as our Mackerel and Sardines from Portugal.

Where in the world do our fish come from? Well, you should be able to find the name of the country on the outside of your can.

?

The can code you need to enter is the 2,3,4 or 5 characters shown in the images above. This code enables us to trace your can right back to the stretch of water your fish was caught in and even to name the boat that caught it too. Now how clever is that!
